This one is about parenting teenagers and deals with the real problems of communication between teens and their parents. It offers really solid, practical ideas for dealing with a variety of scenarios and is written in a very easy-to-read style which I loved. I read this book several times when my children were teenagers and highly recommend it.   At the beginning of childhood, For more about parenting adolesents, see my book, "SURVIVING YOUR CHILD'S ADOLESCENCE" (Wiley, ) Parenting Through the Middle-School Motivation Loss.

Stop Reacting & Start Responding: Ways to Transform Behavior into Learning Moments. Yelling causes stress, anger, frustration, and clouds thinking. Responding allows you to remain clear enough to think & enforce a mindful authority. This book shares how to transform corrections from punishment into teaching. I've torn through this book for my daughter (who's six days old at time of this writing), and my ability to quiet her down in under 10 seconds has amazed my friends and family. Everyone thinks I'm a baby savant or have had previous kids, but I'm simply following the ‘5 S's’ in this book and it works like a charm.   This is a notable shift from the idea of “helicopter parenting,” where parents hover near and help children through life’s big and little challenges. Where helicopter parenting arose in the 80s from a fear of a child’s safety—the risk of falling from a climber, crashing a bike or even being kidnapped—snowplow parenting is rooted in.
